Questions
Are these PDF tools free?
Yes, every tool here is free. Most need no account at all; the few that keep your work between visits need a free one. They run in your web browser, with nothing to install.
Are my files uploaded?
No, not without an account. Your files are opened and worked on in this browser tab, and never sent to our server. Files you add to a library, with an account, are stored on our servers so they reach your other devices.
Is there a file size limit?
No quota as a guest: your file never reaches our server. Some tools work in runs of up to a set number of pages, listed on the Limits page. With a free account, each PDF kept in your library can be up to 100 MB.
Which tools need an account?
Flashcards, Version history, Send for comments, Excerpt board, Audio notes and PDF library. They keep your files or your work between visits, so they need a free account. Everything else on this page works without one.
Do they work on my phone?
Yes. They work in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, on a phone, a tablet or a computer.
